Feeling Off Or Sick After Energy And Subconscious Treatments? This Is Why
Processing and integration is different for everyone, but some “symptoms” may be distressing if you’re unaware they could occur.
When subconscious work and energy healing came into my life, I did a lot of it. Not only did it feel good, it was helping me to shed old subconscious beliefs and energetic patterns that were holding me back from showing up more authentically in all areas of my life. I was excited about the freedom these tools, which I use as a healing arts practitioner, were helping me to create.
And yet, there was a time when I found myself more fatigued and achy, with a low-grade fever, nagging headache, and brain fog. As it was happening and I needed more rest, I felt fear around the potential that this was the beginning of a flare-up of underlying “autoimmune issues” I had yet to release from my system.
I stepped back and asked my guides what was happening and how to support myself in healing. They reminded me that I needed to take a break from the work I had been doing, that I was processing, integrating, and upgrading as a result of my treatments.
I felt a little bit silly needing to be reminded of this, given my training in Reiki and Rapid Transformational Therapy and the regular energy work I had done for myself over the years.
I always seemed to forget about the processing and integration that follows this kind of treatment.
Processing And Integration After Energy And Subconscious Work
There is a part of energy and subconscious treatments that is discussed very little: processing and integration. This experience is different for everyone, but some “symptoms” may be distressing if you’re unaware they could occur. When you have gone into your subconscious or energy field and released and transmuted the energy, your nervous system and energy body need to rearrange to accommodate a new state of being.
The processing and integration range from being very subtle, where you may not notice it, to being reasonably heavy, where it can create noticeable emotional and physical symptoms. It’s not the most glamorous part of the work and isn’t often discussed as a part of your energetic treatment plan. This is not out of neglect but out of an abundance of caution. Why suggest that you may experience integration symptoms when it is just as possible that you won’t?
After a release, there is often a period of feeling light, as though you have had a weight lifted off of you. You may feel like you are radiating, soft, and utterly unstoppable. Depending on the depth of what is released and transformed, processing and integration can last anywhere from 3-10 days. You may feel physical symptoms, including headache, fatigue, sleeplessness, or a slight elevation in body temperature – to name a few. You may feel emotional symptoms, like being more prone to agitation, fear, anger, sadness, or anxiety.
These symptoms do not manifest for everyone, even though everyone processes and integrates. After these types of treatments, I always recommend drinking a lot of water, refraining from alcohol, making sure you have a clear schedule, taking a warm salt bath or shower, and allowing yourself to rest. Follow your intuition’s flow to ensure your needs are met.
Supporting Yourself During Processing And Integration
After subconscious and energetic treatments, you may start to make other connections to things you hadn’t initially related to the area of your life that you sought to transform. It is essential to ensure that you have additional support. Whether it is continued coaching with your practitioner, a therapist, or a group support system, having a space to talk about your experiences – and make sure you’re journaling about them to release them fully – is essential for your mental health and continued transformation.
The most important thing you can do is be kind to yourself, take the time and space you need to rest and lean into your support system. Integration will not last forever, but it will help you bring your transformation full circle.
Even the most intuitive people can struggle to trust their own inner wisdom. Receive an intuitive reading to get an objective view into some of the potentials of your personal circumstances, as well as the energetic frequencies playing out beneath the surface.
I love this - you're so right that it's not talked about enough! Thank you for bringing attention to it.
