Introducing Lived-in Spirituality
An introduction to my personal spiritual philosophy. This is a work in progress, with different perspectives and elements shared as they unfold in my consciousness
Lived-in spirituality is taking all the spiritual lessons, practices, and exploration and weaving them into your day-to-day life rather than having them in separate compartments or periods in your schedule.
It’s moving away from the constant excavation of subconscious beliefs and manifestation efforts to move into living your daily life with intention and through the wisdom of your intuition or inner authority. The purpose is to intentionally explore old wounds at deeper subconscious levels as needed while allowing yourself to feel into the actions that will gently enable your healing to occur naturally.
It is leaving behind how others guide you to choose – what you eat, how you move your body, what you think, right and wrong, correct or incorrect, good or bad, how you should handle your money, how you should move through relationships, etc.
It is instead embodying the reality that each individual is unique. While there can be shared experiences and learnings from others’ wisdom, it is a dedication to questioning everything and putting it through your body’s filter to determine if the lesson is yours to use.
It is understanding that consulting seers, divination tools, coaches, and spiritual practitioners is merely that: a consultation. It is up to you to consider it as another perspective or view as you make the choices for your life moving forward.
Lived-in spirituality is about creating a cozy lifestyle that marries your energetic rituals with the mundane of everyday life. Your morning shower as an energy clearing. Washing the dishes as meditation. Steeping in your intentions and inspirations as your tea brews. Nurturing your living space to unlock ease and alignment. Creating meals as an act of deep self-love. Whispering blessings over those you follow in digital spaces to add mindfulness to your scrolling.
We are here on earth to have a human experience, and I think that ascension comes from a life well-lived. This means honoring your spiritual depth while enjoying the physical experiences you can have in this lifetime. It’s being generous with yourself and others, where and when you have the capacity. It’s opening your heart while keeping it protected. It’s sweating in your yoga class and enjoying a glass of wine with your loved ones on a warm summer night. It’s feeling the shift of the seasons in your body and arranging your physical surroundings to greet the coming changes.
It’s in knowing that there is not one correct answer, that anything is possible, and that questioning everything empowers you to find your truth so that you can bring body, mind, energy, and soul into humming alignment with one another.
It’s understanding that we are all intricately connected, and yet the only thing we have the power to control is ourselves. It’s understanding how we choose to heal, live, and give in times of peace and chaos that allows us to create profound, rippling change throughout our world.
We are taking in so much from other people due to the digital age, and it can obscure how we see ourselves and, therefore, how we live our lives. Lived-in spirituality is the act of leaving the digital spiritual influencer formulas behind to peel away what we’ve learned that doesn’t fit, nurturing the lessons that feel true, and gaining this understanding by simply living our day-to-day lives.
It’s about slowing down, sinking in, and taking your time. When we let ourselves breathe and be, rather than efforting, digging, or forcing, we find gentleness in our healing process and ultimately reap greater rewards at the perfect time.
