Hi friend. I hope that this finds you well. I've been spending my last couple of mornings in meditation. And breath work and asking, what is it that needs to be known? And yesterday, as I sat, I heard the word courage.
So as I sat this morning, just now asking, what is it that needs to be known about courage? It's important to know that courage is what is needed as we come into what is going to be another clearing and a new cycle. Because as the dust settles, a new cycle begins. Now, astrologically, this makes a lot of sense on Wednesday or Thursday depending on where you live, we will experience an eclipse in Ares. It's the first one in many, many years.
You'll have to see your astrologer for that information and recommend Shannon Nicholas. But we also have Mercury going retrograde on Friday in Taurus. And Aries is fiery. It's fresh starts to the self, and Torres is earthy and grounded. And the material.
And so we are going to start to see and starting to see isn't exactly the right way to phrase it. We're going to see more clear. I think we've been seeing a lot of things clearing, a lot of truth coming to the surface, and we're going to see more of that happen in our lives. And so paying attention to the themes that you've been experiencing in your life lately will start to help you see what needs to be cleared away. So that something new can come in.
And it's important to know that this is not believe this eclipse falls on a new moon. And so this is not a time for planting seeds or manifesting. It's in this case a time to rest, to watch, to take note. And as we move through the Mercury retrograde cycle, it will be about looking at our physical lives and understanding what what is working and what can stay and what is helping and what isn't and letting ourselves sort of revise and rewrite the way that we move about our daily lives. Now the courage is important here because if police forgive Potato drinking water in the background if you can hear that.
Courage is important here because this is not a small shift. This is a major shift. We have been experiencing new and fresh energy this year for the first time in several years. And it's in experiencing that that we are allowing ourselves to consider something new, consider what is fresh and exciting and where we might like to go next. The world is shifting and the world is changing, and the way that we see ourselves is changing.
And when we get new visions for ourselves and for our lives, it can be really scary because it requires change. It requires letting go. It requires releasing something that we previously thought was the thing for us, what was right for us. It requires us to release old beliefs about ourselves. It requires us to release what we previously believed about other people in our lives.
It may mean releasing people who have been in art lives. It may be releasing spiritual practices that have kept us grounded and centered by for quite some time, have not necessarily been keeping us whole. And so as we are looking to really experience something new and something different. It means we have to clear this based and we have to do something new and something different. Now, I see this, but there is some cyclical nature here.
Wherein It may be that you are coming back to something that you previously loved, that you had set aside. And that is now feeling correct for you again in this cycle and this point in your life. As you are revisiting, one thing that is important is that you must know that it's always acceptable for you to put something down and set it aside and come back. A lot of the conditioning that we have in this society is that we are flip floppers if we walk away from something and then come back to it. But this is human nature.
And it takes courage to be able to come back to something that we had set aside and maybe had publicly vocally set aside. And pick it back up and make it a part of ourselves again. Do you understand here? So with courage, one thing that needs to be considered is that it comes in parts and it comes in waves. And with courage, it isn't necessarily about immediately taking some leap through fear.
Often times, courage is giving yourself the opportunity to see and witness and understand and actually look at the things that had scared us, at the things that made us nervous, at the things that we wouldn't allow ourselves to look at because we didn't wanna get our hopes up. Because when we allow ourselves to look and we allow ourselves to see what we hadn't allowed ourselves to see is that we gain an understanding. And it's been sitting with the seeing and collecting the information and seeing the details and letting it sit in our minds and sit in our bodies and sit in our consciousness. We gain that knowing and it is from that knowing that we are then able to make a move and make a change. Just because we have the inkling, just because we have an understanding, doesn't mean that we have to immediately take action?
The action will come, but the action is not meant to come immediately, and that is part of what is so interesting about requiring courage at this time. Because sometimes courage is also about sitting still. It is about giving ourselves rest. It is about giving ourselves space. Is about saying no or it is about saying I'm not sure I have to think about it. I don't know how I feel about that yet. So courage is just as much a practice as meditation, as contemplation. As proper breathing, as anything helps that you consider a practice in your life. And you can feel that courage. If you just close your eyes and breathe, then give yourself a little space.
And ask your highest self, your inner voice. Show me. Show me what courage looks like for me. Show me what courage feels like for me. And allow it to manifest within you.
Allow it to manifest behind your mind's eye. Allow yourself to sense it, to know it, to smell it, to feel it, and to understand what it actually looks like it means for you. Because it is different for everyone. It is different for everyone all the time. Courage will be different in different moments with different people in different scenarios.
But all you have to do is breathe. And quietly in your mind or out loud to yourself. Ask for courage to come to you. Ask it to come upon you to move through you. To allow you to embody it in its fullest form and what's needed in that moment.
I know that all will be well indeed. Okay, friend. I hope that this has been helpful. I apologize for my rambunctious Potato dog in the background. Hopefully, it wasn't too distracting.
And I hope that you are well through this big clearing and take lots of rest, drink lots of water. We'll chat soon. Much love.
Mercury Retrograde in Taurus, April 21 - May 14, 2023
I love just about any opportunity to reflect and revise, but Mercury Retrogrades tend to be more chaotic in that process than I’d like. Coupled with the eclipse in Aries, there will be a lot that comes up and may wish to be understood. I personally use my Mercury Retrograde hypnosis and journal prompts to get to the bottom of what’s troubling me so that I – hopefully – don’t have to be troubled by it again.
